Diabeathis. Yes we can. With this application, users can calculate rapid-acting insulin doses on the spot. Gone are the days of miscalculations. The user simply clicks "Use Calculator." Next, the user inputs current blood glucose, target blood glucose, carb ratio, correction factor, carbs eaten and the percent of insulin needed to administer. After all values are in, the user clicks "Calculate Insulin," and the dose appears.

How it works:
- This app uses an in-built formula to calculate the correct dose:
- Correction Dose = (Current Blood Glucose minus Target Blood Glucose), divided by Correction Factor
- Carb Dose = Carbs Eaten divided by Carb Ratio (Carbs per unit of insulin)
- Total Dose = Correction Dose plus Carb Dose
- Final Dose = Total Dose times the Percent desired to take (using a number from 0 - 100)

*Correction Factor is the amount of points one unit of insulin can reduce your blood glucose by.

Key Features:
- An app for diabetics
- Quick, simple and easy use calculator interface to get insulin dose
- If current glucose is higher than target, it alerts users & tells them to drink plenty of water
- If current glucose is lower than target, it alerts users & tells them to adjust dose
- "Remind Me" feature to notify users every 2 hours to check glucose
- "How it Works" button to show users the formula
- Supports mmol/L and mg/dl
- Available on iPhone and iPad

My reasoning for developing this application was to help other diabetics, like myself, manage themselves better. If this app suits you, feel free to rate it and share it amongst others. I am open to any feedback for making this application an improved user-experience, so dont hesitate to give your opinion or ask questions at https://www.facebook.com/DiabeathisPage/. I thank you for allowing me to make our lives a little easier. #WeAreInThisTogether

Please consult your doctor about your correction factor, so that you know the values are completely accurate at a given time. If you are doing any physical activity or sick, make sure to adjust the dose accordingly. Diabeathis is NOT a substitute to any medical device calculations, but an assistance to getting your dose. This app only calculates based on a "regular, non-active" state. This app is based on "Sliding Scale Insulin Therapy (SSI)." Before using the dosage from the app, make sure to calculate the dose yourself to make sure that it is completely correct. Stay safe and alert at all times for any insulin doses that you take.
